NAU [ náw ] carrack; a carrack or nau was a three or four-masted sailing ship developed for ocean voyages in the 15th century by the Portuguese. Carracks were the first proper ocean-going ships in europe: large enough to be stable in heavy seas, and roomy enough to carry provisions for long voyages.
Over the last decades a global economy has emerged with companies exchanging products and services internationally, relocating employees who need to adapt, integrate and fulfil the host country’s legal requirements. They are also asked to be aware of corporate cultures and business practices in other countries and communicate to an international audience. This can be a difficult task for a human resource professional to do alone, so many seek the assistance of a destination services provider to help manage their company’s expatriate program.
